Housing Placement

Filadelfia’s housing services accept residents from all over the country.

You are always welcome to contact the placement committee for a visit before starting the placement procedure. The resident must belong to the target group.

Placement Procedure

  • The citizen’s caseworker sends the citizen’s VUM documents, medical information, assessments from previous residences, etc., via secure mail.
  • Our placement committee conducts a medical and educational assessment to determine if the citizen belongs to the target group.
  • The placement committee may also conduct a clinical placement visit with the citizen.
  • The citizen is offered a tour of the housing facility.
  • The placement committee makes the placement decision.
  • The placement committee sends the decision to the municipality responsible for the case.

Housing Assignment

  • When a citizen is assigned housing in Filadelfia’s social services, a contract and housing document are prepared, and a move-in date is agreed upon.
  • An agreement on service provisions and various consent forms are also prepared.
  • A meeting is held between the local institution and the citizen/guardian/relatives to discuss expectations.
  • Before moving in, the contract must be signed by the citizen’s caseworker, and the service agreement, consent forms, and minutes of the expectations meeting must be signed by the citizen/guardian/relatives.

Housing Waitlist

  • You can be placed on a waitlist for housing in Filadelfia’s social services.
  • We prioritize based on need, not seniority.

Placement Committee

The placement process begins when you call or write to the placement committee.

Rehabilitative efforts for adults with epilepsy and acquired brain injury

There is a dedicated epilepsy specialist who regularly visits the three residential facilities. There is an awake night watch at the residential facilities.

We have a strong professional environment that works interdisciplinarily

  • The residential facilities have staff from both the healthcare and social care sectors.
  • The staff are trained with specialized knowledge in epilepsy and the rehabilitative and neuro-pedagogical approach to people with brain injuries.
  • The residential facilities are inspired by the hospital, ensuring development and evidence-based treatment.
  • The epilepsy hospital’s specialists and neuropsychologists are closely involved in daily operations.

“We have chosen Stormly”

“We have chosen Stormly because it is a nice place to be and everyone knows each other. Claus feels secure with the familiar staff and enjoys his small apartment.

As a relative, I am pleased when our contact person, Pia, calls me on a Friday evening to say that she and Claus had a good evening and that he is getting better. It means a lot.”

Information about the Four Social Programmes

With high professionalism and a heartfelt approach, we offer meaningful rehabilitation. We have compiled some of the questions we frequently hear.

Who is the target group?

The target group consists of adults with epilepsy and/or acquired brain injuries, as well as physical, psychological, social, and cognitive issues. The physical facilities allow us to accommodate residents with significant disabilities. Our residential facilities offer temporary placements under §107 and long-term placements under §105/108. Our day services provide options for sheltered employment under §103 and activity and companionship services under §104.

What is the level of professionalism?

Our professional approach emphasizes rehabilitative and neuro-pedagogical methods, along with specialized knowledge in epilepsy. All staff members undergo a specially designed competency program.

The professional effort is guided by collectively agreed principles, guidelines, and methods for how employees apply their knowledge, skills, and competencies in their work with residents, based on the best available knowledge.

How is development ensured?

During the first three to six months, we clarify the resident’s wishes, hopes, and dreams for the future, as well as their need for support and assistance based on their functional level.

Afterwards, we recommend a plan for an interdisciplinary approach tailored to the individual resident. We work according to a professionally designed course program.

The course program is inspired by the package pathways at the Epilepsy Hospital and ensures a developmental, rehabilitative, or compensatory effort while providing a professional overview of the interventions.

We have four target groups, and the professional efforts are weighted differently depending on which of the four target groups the resident is enrolled in.
