Here’s what we think

“I like living here at Egebo. I have been to many places, but this is the best place. It’s close to the square, where I can go to the cafe. I am happy with the people I am with; they are my friends. Going to the workshop makes me happy. I want to live here for the rest of my life.”

Ole Espersen, resident

“I am glad that Lars lives at Egebo because there is always staff in the house, and the staff has extensive knowledge of epilepsy.”

Svend Hansen, relative

“There is a good working environment, room for differences, and we are all pulling in the same direction. There is a focus on professionalism and opportunities for development.”

“I am happy to be at Egebo because of the residents here. They give me a lot in return. There are opportunities for professional development. I also appreciate my colleagues and the collaboration we have. We have significant influence over our daily work.”

Julie Hansen, nurse and Marie Moseley, educator

Gain knowledge and security

You may have many concerns and questions if you have a relative with epilepsy moving into Filadelfia’s 24-hour care services. We have gathered some of them here.

What happens during an epileptic seizure?

Our staff are trained in epilepsy and know exactly what to do if a resident has an epileptic seizure. No one is alone; we are always there. We can manage seizures and maintain daily contact with Egebo’s house doctor from the Epilepsy Hospital, Filadelfia. There is also always a medication manager in the house, and we can get direct help in acute situations from the on-call epilepsy specialist at the Epilepsy Hospital, Filadelfia. This ensures a sense of security as we can respond quickly if there is an epileptic seizure or changes in seizure patterns.

What activities are available?

We participate in many activities throughout the year. The staff are specially trained in epilepsy, which provides security and allows us to take part in events such as the annual Zealand Festival. We have emergency preparedness in place. Our professionally competent staff can provide first aid and seizure management – and we are always nearby.

Our highly skilled staff are more confident because of our expertise in epilepsy.

There is also a lot happening at Filadelfia. In 2023, Malte Ebert performed a concert, Cirkus Baldoni gave a performance, and there was a communal bingo game.

Friends and communities

As a resident at the social 24-hour care service Egebo, you will form good friendships with other residents at the facility and users of the day service at the Rehabilitation and Development Center – some of whom live in other residential facilities in the local area. We are mindful of loneliness and involve everyone in the community. The local area is friendly, and there are always people to greet.

Dedicated contact person

All residents are assigned one or more dedicated contact persons. Together with other colleagues, they form a consistent team with strong professional expertise and work interdisciplinarily. The team assists with practical, personal, and social tasks. They also provide educational and nursing support and assistance. There is close collaboration with relatives.
