Francesca Furia’s Research

Since 2020, Francesca Furia has been working on a research project focusing on the relationship between genotype and phenotype in SCN8A-related disorders at Filadelfia. Francesca Furia continues to work on research projects related to epilepsy and genetics. She particularly focuses on the genes STXBP1 and SCN8A, with an emphasis on deep phenotyping of these disorders and their correlation with genotype.

In summary, the Ph.D. project involves a comprehensive study of the genetic and clinical aspects of monogenic epilepsy. By integrating electro-clinical characterization, genotype-phenotype correlations, functional studies, and a focus on precision treatments, Francesca Furia aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of these conditions and provide insights that can inform more targeted and effective therapeutic strategies.
