Information about analyses

The documents include information on shipping, shelf life, and prices for medication analyses and genetic tests.

Please note that for CYP3A4/5, the phenotype ‘rapid metabolizer’ can only be determined by ordering both CYP3A4 and CYP3A5 analyses.

The Laboratory

We are nationwide

The laboratory has a nationwide function in determining antiepileptics and psychopharmaceuticals in the blood as well as in genotyping.

At Filadelfia’s laboratory, we are one of the few places in the country able to perform genetic testing, thereby examining how medication works on patients. By analyzing blood, we can provide answers that help tailor medication doses to individual patients, as the way people metabolize medication varies, ensuring the best possible effect.

Thanks to advanced equipment, new analysis methods, and competent staff, the laboratory can deliver test results quickly. We analyze samples from many hospitals in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

The Laboratory

Blood Tests and ECG

The laboratory performs blood sampling and ECGs on Filadelfia’s patients in the laboratory’s outpatient clinic. It is open on weekdays from 8:30 to 13:00.

No appointment is necessary.

Closed days:

Public holidays, May 1st, three days before Easter, the day after Ascension Day, weeks 29-31, and the days between Christmas and New Year.

The Laboratory

Optimal Quality

Since 2017, the laboratory has been accredited by DANAK according to DS/EN ISO 15189:2013 under registration number 1038 for medical examination with specialties in genetics, pharmacology, and blood sampling.

Additionally, the laboratory participates in external quality assurance programs to ensure a high standard.

The Laboratory

High Service Level

The laboratory provides consultation on the results. We develop analyses on demand and participate in development and research projects.

Consultation

We provide guidance to requesters on therapeutic intervals for antiepileptics and psychopharmaceuticals. We keep up with literature on drug interactions that can inhibit or promote medication metabolism, thereby affecting the medication’s efficacy. We also advise on the pharmacological implications of genotyping for dose adjustment. These two areas of expertise, either together or separately, can contribute to optimal drug treatment and, thereby, increased patient safety.

Research

We collaborate with the doctors at the Epilepsy Hospital on clinical applications of medication monitoring concerning dose adjustment and combination therapy. We also research the practical aspects of genotyping. The laboratory partners with external clients on drug projects related to antiepileptics and psychopharmaceuticals.

Development

To continuously develop and offer the services our customers demand, we are open to dialogue with our current and potential customers. We would love to hear your thoughts on our services and if you have any needs for other types of services.

Developing new knowledge is important to us, which is why we are happy to participate in research and development projects within our areas of expertise. So, call or write to us if you have feedback, praise, or ideas.

The Laboratory

Our History

The laboratory has been in existence since 1927. Since the mid-1960s, we have had a nationwide function for the determination of antiepileptics in the blood, and since 1980, also for the determination of psychopharmaceuticals in the blood.

In 2000, a molecular biology laboratory was established for genotyping and investigating patients’ ability to metabolize medications via the CYP2D6 and CYP2C19 enzyme systems. Later in 2018, more CYP analyses were added to our repertoire.

Additionally, the laboratory provides routine hematological and clinical biochemical analyses for Filadelfia.
